ENGLISH VERSION:
When I was a kid I thought mail was magical. Receving a card or a package was the best thing that could happen to me. I didn't receive many things except for some birthday cards from a Club for kids that a mexican cereal(yes, cereal) had when I was little.
Now I've had the chance of meeting new friends from other places in the world through the internet, and we've been able to exchange a few gifts and art through postal service.
In my "Tomodachi Mail" entries I will be telling you about those exchanges with my artists friends from other states/countries.
A year ago I found on Instagram one of my favorite artists (@egocentricartist) Sara Capello.
Her drawings are filled with flowers, ducks, food and radishes. All of her illustrations are first inked by hand and digitally painted afterwards.

I love that her work is incredibly detailed.
Last year close to christmas I saw that she was doing a card exchange with her friends and mutuals. I decided to send her a message on Instagram telling her that I knew we weren't mutuals but that I would love to make an art exchange with her.
She was incredibly nice to me, and we starting following each other on twitter and instragram and became friends on fb.
Close to christmas she sent me an envelope with many things! Her prints are so beautifully printed in a very thick cotton paper. Her work is so much nice in person than online.
Among the things that she sent me were 2 big prints, one with a duck in a forest and the other one of beautiful detailed flowers. Two mini prints of ducks, a radish charm with a different expression in each side. A zine about food, a duck sticker and a gorgeous holiday card.
Here are some pictures I took of the gifts that Sara sent me:

When I wanted to send Sara's gift I found myself in a problem that I didn't think I was going to have.
The shipping from Mexico all the way to Massachusetts (in a private postal service) was around $40 dollars to $60 dollars. And honestly I didn't risk it with the mexican postal service because it usually takes forever to get anywhere.
My boyfriend was very nice to take the envelope to the USPS and SURPRISE!! it was only $3 dollars and she got it like a week later with no damage at all.
